Newest cruise liner to visit Tenerife on her maiden voyage
Cunard´s newest cruise liner, the 90,000-ton Queen Elizabeth will set sail for the Portuguese island of Madeira before stopping in Tenerife on her maiden voyage.
Cunard’s newest addition to their fleet is expected to enter service in October 2010 at a cost of £365 million. At 964ft the vessel will accommodate 2,092 passengers and can bring potentially lucrative trade to the island. Her departure date is currently set for October 12th 2010.
The vessel will be the second largest that the company has ever built. Several other cruise liners already stop in at Santa Cruz de Tenerife and have provided a welcome boost to the retail sector in the city.
