The cuts can be applied to both fixed land lines and mobiles (Telefónica´s mobile division is Spain is Motorola.)
The maximum saving is capped at 20.00€ per month and those applying for the reduction should be in receipt of “paro” and must also have been a customer of Telefonica for the last 6 months or more.
At a news conference the president of Telefónica España, Guillermo Ansaldo explained that the measure was motivated by the economic situation and will be available for at least the rest of this year. It is estimated that the charitable gesture could initially benefit more than half a million people.
